Ever feel like you are running around like a “chicken with their head cut off”? Often that describes our lives! In the process of the “chicken dance” we alienate our family and friends, forget half of the things we were suppose to do and become angry and frustrated. We are dead tired physically and emotionally. Actually, when all is said and done we have probably lost ourselves in the process. We walk away from the day wondering what on earth happened! Ever have one of those days?
The best thing we can do when life gets overwhelming is to take a moment, sit down, take a deep breath and breathe! We were not created to do the chicken dance! Now, I don’t think God has anything against chickens – after all He created them. But….He created us to soar like an Eagle. Isaiah 40:26-28 says “Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens; Who created all these…He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name…not one of them is missing…The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom?” Remember who our God is! Take a moment and worship Him!
We have many promises in verses 29-31, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men (women) stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
The question for today is: Are you doing a chicken dance? If so, than it is time to learn to soar!
